Sherry’s Goose

Sherry’s Goose

Lying here thinking back over the years since my wife Sherry and I met, I recall a particular summer evening. Sherry, my son T.J., and I went out for a drive and were just out horsing around when we decided to go to Veterans Park and feed the ducks and geese.

When you live in Klamath Falls Or. Veterans Park is at the south end of town where they have fixed it up with water lights, and an old steam locomotive for a tourist attraction, to go along with Crater Lake National Park, just sixty miles north of us.

That evening we brought some bread to feed the ducks with, and to talk with my son as he was having hard times then.
We got through feeding all the water fowl, then T.J. and I were standing by the car discussing a few things, when Sherry yells out “ I’m going to catch a goose” I laughed and said, “ you better leave them things alone they can be pretty mean.” I’ve seen honkers whip many good bird dogs.

Sherry wondered off and was gone a while, when we heard a high pitched scream, “I got him, I got Him!”
She appeared with a huge Canadian Honker in her arms waddling across the park towards us, and came right up to T.J. and I. The goose was looking around like he had no idea of what to do.

Anybody else would have been torn up, but here he was in Sherry’s arms twisting his head around looking like “Oh crap what the h _ _ _ do I do?” T.J. said, “Dad, she’s crazy.” He has hunted geese and has seen just how mean they can get.
T.J. and I were busting a gut laughing at her and her goose when T.J. noticed that Sherry had ripped out her pants big time. From that point on we were laughing uncontrollably.

T.J. said that Sherry was crazy enough to be in the family so I better marry her.

Sherry's Goose

This is a new one on me. Since I used to know your wife I know of some of the wild and crazy things she used to do, and most of them were hilarious. Keep an eye on her; you never know what she might do next. Next time you may pee your pants from laughing so hard. Watch out I tell you!!!! Good stuff, James. How lucky you are to have someone who, unwittingly, brings so much humor into your relationship. Richard

A family that talks to each other - a rarity these days

You folks have always "best" stories. And, more important, gosh, your stories always involve a good and loving communications within your family -- that's a real rarity these days, and I can only congratulate all of you for initiating what most families would give anything to accomplish... +1 Maybe K-Falls has something to do with it?? ________________ It does matter what you believe, but, what you believe does not matter if you do not act upon your beliefs. you can not vote on the truth --Pope John Paul II, 1995
