Should a football player risk his life to play a game

Football is a violent game, and all who play know that. But there comes a time when a player needs to look at life after the game. Ryan Clark has sickle-cell traits that  become more active in high altitudes, just like the game he played in Denver in 2007. After the game he became very ill and missed the remainder of the season. Football players are a rare breed, but I believe Clark should sit this one out.
