Should Jerusalem be split between the Israelis and Palestinians?

What is Jerusalem? The kingdom of God or a city of stones and bitter memories? Today it is the most holiest land in the entire world with more than 3 major religions having exclusive claim to the land. Looking back in history can yield the answers to the question of "Should we split the city of Jerusalem?"

If the Jews keep the Dome of Rock, the Palestinians will fight over it. If the Palestinians get it, the Jews will fight. If the status quo is changed, it will just lead to more external and internal problems between Israel and its neighbors and between the major religions.

So what should be done? Should be city be split?
