Sleep + Weight Loss

I know if you don't get enough sleep, your metabolism tends to slow down and your body hoards carbs and fat, so I guess this makes some degree of sense. Drinking a lot of water also makes a huge difference if for no other reason than it keeps you full. Even when hard, life is good when freelance writing.

There is a correlation between weight loss and sleep

Celanith Hello everyone, stop and set awhile. You don't acutally lose weight while sleeping but if you do not get enough sleep or rest you do gain weight. The best way to lose weight is eating healthy foods, cut way back on sugars and that includes artificial sugars they DO NOT help weight loss but actually add to it and have other harmful agents. Exercise that is vigorous is the best way at least 30 minutes a day 60 is better you can break it up into 15 minute segaments if need. Eat boneless skinless chicken, eat omega that eggs home grown, lots of veggies and fruit raw prefered. Drink lots of water. Avacados are go as are cucumber and tomato sandwitches. Have a small amount of candy or cookies like the new Oreo cakesters for those cravings, coffee nips to suck on or even lollipops. Gum is also good. I have lost 11.5 lbs in 6 days eating 3 apples a day lots of water, salads, 2% cottage cheese, chicken breast or tenders, fish fillets, or a turkey burger patty. Three slices of turkey bacon, oatmeal, coffee, broccoli, peas that are frozen not canned, carrots cooked or raw, Veggie soups. Avoid pastas, this is just a start, Yogurt too helps. But most of all you have to want it to lose weight and to take an active role in losing. Walking, Swimming, Dancing, Bicycling, Exercycle, Cardiogliders are all ways to get going and the more you do it the better you feel.

If you increase your metabolism by increasing muscle mass (which requires more calories per hour than fat, even at rest) then don't eat anything for about three hours before bedtime so your digestive tract is clear, your body will actually use your body's fat stores for caloric fuel while you are sleeping.
