Smoking may ovetake obesity on risk for cancer

From the Reuters report, during the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Dr. Walter C. Willett from the Harvard School of Public Health, obesity is currently linked to about 14 percent of cancer deaths in men and 20 percent in women as compared to about 20 percent in women. Research shows and increasing evidence which associates obesity with cancers of the liver, colorectal, pancreas, gallbladder and breast. Based on estimate, 30 percent to 35 percent of cancers are due to eating and nutritional factors often associated with obesity.
