SNOWBALL FIGHT!

When I began writing my earlier post today it was not snowing but it looked like it might.

Here are some photos of what Ceske Budejovice looks like right now!

Normally they say it does not snow until the middle of November but this year we have received an early gift from Father Winter.

Foreign Snowballs

Cool pictures...or I should say, 'COLD' pictures!! I noticed they are taken from your apartment window...HA!! Did you make it out to throw snowballs? I lived in Washington, Montana, Idaho, and a bit of Wyoming in my work travels in the 90's. And I can't even really say 'lived', as I worked such long hours, and rarely stayed in one town long enough to see anything beyond the McDonald's or Taco Bell next to my motel. HA!! So it was actually more 'travels' than 'living'. But I did get some time, now and then, to hike and fish in Yellowstone and Glacier Ntl Parks, and many other breath-takingly beautiful places...which almost made the winters bearable. I say, 'almost' and then only for a while. I got so sick of SNOW, ice, sleet, freezing rain, freezing fog, and of driving on black ice, and compact SNOW and ice!! After spending two hours one night, digging my car out of 3 foot deep snow, which had drifted up over the top of my car to 6 feet deep...all in order to get to an emergency "freeze watch" at one of the nearby refinerys, I decided then and there, that it would be the last 'SNOW' I would ever endure again. And it has been...kind of!! I relocated to the 'south' from there...plenty of refinerys and work down there...and NO SNOW!! I spent nearly 3 years there, bouncing back and forth through Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the Florida panhandle. And the closest thing to 'SNOW' there was the white sandy beaches!! Always white!! And always WARM!! I then went to Indianpolis for a few months, and wouldn't you know it, before I got out of there, it SNOWed!! That was my 'cue' to exit stage left (west), and back to California I came...southern to be exact!! I got married, and got off of the road, and figured, "No chance of SNOW now!!" But guess what my new last name became?! You guessed it!! SNOW!! I knew I should have kept going!! HA!! Me and SNOW do not get along!! HA!!
