Some Reasons to Tweet | Why Twits Twitter

What Are You Doing?

The prime reason to Tweet is to answer the question “What Are You Doing?” so you can let people (your friends and anyone else with a Twitter account) know your status, where you are and even (perhaps) what mood you're in. Thanks to Twitter, that’s why you hear less people say “I’m on the train” nowadays. But, also thanks to Twitter, why people who used to say this instead start texting a Tweet as soon as they get onboard.

Other common Tweets from people who Tweet from their Mobile Phones (Cell Phones) are:

“I’m on the throne/toilet/bog”

Some people go into more details about their motions and stools and other bodily functions which allow the use of the hands whilst being accomplished. For polite examples:

“I’m sitting down urinating while Tweeting” or “I’m in the middle of a #2”

TIP: Always wash you hands after using someone else’s cell phone (mobile phone).

If you follow some trending topics you'll soon see what really is going on with Tweets. Some people (mentioning no names) are Tweeting to cynically drive traffic to their articles! I know, like you, I was outraged! How cynical is that! I’m sure this was not what Twitter was invented for. Nevertheless, some User Developed Content Sites (mentioning no names) even encourage this use of poor, innocent, Twitter. For example, CLICK HERE or CLICK HERE.

TIP: Do not Tweet continually or you will be banned but once an hour with an on trend Tweet and a link to one of your articles can have an excellent effect, particularly if the article has merit and is written extremely well. For instance see my article WOBBLE YOUR FAT AWAY

More Reasons to Tweet include:

To make them feel good/less inadequate/superior (Stephen Fry for instance). These reasons are sad but just as valid as driving traffic to my article WOBBLE YOUR FAT AWAY

Some people Tweet to prove they're just one of the gang - Stephen Fry for instance. Some to prove they know more than everybody - Stephen Fry for instance. Some to prove they are important to the cultural landscape of the UK and the rest of the world - Stephen Fry for instance. Some people use tweet to pretend they've a life (Stephen Fry for instance).

Some people Tweet for one of two reasons:

1 For mischief (Wilma Proops for instance)

2 Because they are drunk - (Wilma Proops for instance) they're my favourite.

The Saddest Reason to Tweet!

Of all the reasons to Tweet, looking for love is the saddest reason. In fact it is so sad it is funny. All such people seem to attract are (judging by their Twit photos) those who sell certain services. These people use Twitter like an online Telephone Box in Soho.

BEWARE Dangerous Twits

Some people are followers only and they are there to stalk Twits. I’m not mentioning this to put you off but, in the words borrowed partly from NYPD Blue:

“be careful out there in Twit Land!”

Measuring Tweet Success

I tweeted an article (not mine) as an experiment but forgot to monitor if after the second Tweet. It seems to have done well but how will I/we ever know if it would have anyway - perplexing that! I think it would have without a Tweet by me. Could someone with an old article - good but few readers - PM me with a link so I can do another experiment. @jhubdub - I know neither Twitter nor Xomba are the

Houses of Parliament but "I refer the honorable gentleman to the answers I gave a moment ago" - there are answers in there somewhere. Obviously the article and answers to all the comments are based on the research and experience of Wilma Proops the dishornorable ol' s**g but, loke she says "many a true word is spoken in jest". @MJ (Dakota) re my Twits, some Tweets and Twitter.com

Yep, it definitely increased traffic to articles - especially if you can make them relevant to a medium trending topic - hence my cynical reference to Stephen Fry (a Brit celebrity who gets on my twits (so to speak but everybody else seimply adores - he's a pompous know it all - and before anyone points it out - I know more than him! I Tweeted this artcle and reckon that my article Wobble You Fat Away (see the link in the article) has done good business today because of it - all it takes is a cluster of people who (in this case) want to wobble their fat off to enjoy the article and pass it to their friends - who likewide fancy a wobble - and hey presto! (see my comment to tinatango about why I tweeted about Stephen Fry for other reasons other than he gets on my aforementioned twits - All the best AAT2 AndAnotherTwit JOIN XOMBA HERE FREE Xomba is an international online community and anyone can join. @tinatango twittering toilets ALWAYS wash your hands...

I've built up some followers including a long lost relative (apparently) of Wilma Proops who goes by the handle DBollocks. Thanks for the comment and the vote, even if twere only for toilet/washing hands (I just hope you don't mean washing hands in the soiled toilet bowl or even the fresh flush water) - sure you don't All the best AAT2 AndAnotherTwit (our twit handle) JOIN XOMBA HERE FREE Xomba is an international online community and anyone can join. Being "Ill-twitterate"

I'm not convinced it is singularly the solution to driving traffic to our articles, but it is a start. Much of my experience there is, aside from my fellow writers on Xomba, most of the people who follow me are hoping that I reciprocate and follow them because they are some marketing guru and have something to sell. There are others who have different niches that may have a different opinion about it, but I am a neutral when it comes to Twitter. CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

Is Twitter really "all that"?

OK, I am Twiiter illiterate, haven't even been to the Twitter site. For some reason, I just can't bring myself to join yet another social network. "If you are not on Twitter, you are not living" seems to be the motto... so sad that people attach so much "life" into technology and fads. Just my opinion. Can anyone tell me that Twitter has added to their revenue? Improved reads, or is it just "the thing" everybody is doing that makes Twitter so popular?
