Sometimes HOLLYWOOD get's it right...

Well once in a while Hollywood can get it right, what am I talking about? Movies of coarse. After seeing the top blockbusters of 2009 so far, really one sticks out in my head so far, the film being District 9, this film was very original and well written by Neill Blomkamp and newcomer Terri Tatchell. The film is shot like that of a documentary, it's about Aliens surfacing upon Earth but really don't want to be here at all, they are treated poorly by the human race, I won't give away the plot just in case some have not seen this remarkable film, but this film reminds me why I am a film maker, it had no big names and it's main focus was telling that of a great story, so I highly recommend District 9.
Inglorious Basterd
I'm a Quetin Tarantino fan, just like that of most film makers, I enjoy his quirky dialogue, to his over the top violence that plagues his films, but I myself with have to disagree that this film Inglorious Basterds is Tarantino's best work, yes the film is well done, but at times it is very boring and most of the film is spoken in German so you'll be finding yourself reading through most of it, but as with most of Tarantino's films he'll find certain scene's that you truly will remember, point in question the dreaded baseball bat scene, Tarantino has an act for making certain scene's stand out in your mind, such as in Reservoir Dogs when Mr. Blonde cut off a Police officers ear, to Pulp Fiction where Trovolta jammed a needle in to Uma Thurman's heart, from trying to guess what was really in the briefcase, he has an act for it, that is why I am a fan of his film making, you can say all you want about him, but he is one of the few film makers that can pull this off. But do I recommend Inglorious Basterds? Yeah I recommend it if your into main subtitled films, but in the end that is up for you to decide.
GI JOE
Perhaps the worst film I've seen this year, it gives the cartoon a bad name, director Stephen Sommers did not even know who or what GI JOE was until 3 years ago, the acting was bad, the dialogue was horrible and that action scene's were amateurish. I was ready to walk out of the theater, something I have never even thought about doing.
