Russell Peters was born in 1970, the child of Eric and Maureen Peters. Peters began performing in Toronto in 1989. He has South- Asian roots and is touring the world and amazing audiences with his hilarious exploration of various races, including his own East Indian heritage. Peters was the first South Asian comic to headline the legendary Apollo Theater in New York, where he brought the sold-out house down with his hilarious stable of characters drawn from all races and cultures.

Russell's new DVD and CD, Outsourced, has gone five times platinum in his home country of Canada and gives viewers and listeners an excellent overview of his comedic genius.

Russell Peters had been nominated for four Gemini awards, and was nominated for the Best Male Comic for the Canadian Comedy Awards. He was the First South Asian to headline and sell-out the Apollo Theater in New York City.
