Spring Cleaning The Easy Way
posted February 2, 2008 - 6:07amIt's time to think about Spring Cleaning, if you haven't started already. This can be an expensive exercise by the time you have bought cloths, kitchen cleaner, floor cleaner, stainless steel cleaner, glass cleaner and a host of other products to make the job easier.
The fact is that these chemically based products smell nice and do a good job of the cleaning but they are no good for you to breath in, they pollute our waterways and they cost a fortune.
There is a solution here. Take a bottle of white vinegar and put a cupful into half a bucket of hot water. This will clean floors, kitchen surfaces, cupboard doors and all hard surfaces in the kitchen. Rub undiluted vinegar on your sink to bring back the shine and pour vinegar down the drain to keep it grease free and smelling fresh.
Vinegar in warm water will freshen up carpets all over the house. Just use a well squeezed out cloth and rub gently. It deodorises, cleans, disinfects and brings back the colour.
Your bathroom will be sparkling after a good rub with the same mixture. Use undiluted vinegar for stubborn marks, tile grouting and baths.
