Squirrels Use Snake Smell to Deter Enemies

Researchers at the University of California have discovered squirrels in the local area using the smell of snakes to deter enemies. They have discovered that the squirrels are eating snake skins left by snakes in the area. They rub the chewed up skin on their fur which makes them smell like a snake. The researchers think this may keep most of the squirrels' enemies away.
