Starbucks Accused of Wasting More Than 23 Million Gallons of Water

They waste perfectly good coffee beans, too
Crikey! Did I say that out loud?
Starbucks, like many corporations that started off with good ideas then got too big for their own good, needs to consider the impact of ALL their operations on the Greater Good. It cannot market environmentally-friendly products to its customers and ignore the impact its water wastage is having on the environment.
Good link!

I'm not one to judge that one
I don't like coffee, so I can't really judge their brew. It all tastes like vile sludge to me. :)
where's the coffee?
I once stood perplexed watching 5 people take 5 minutes to prepare a bucket of warm insipid brown liquid. They'd have been fired at any self-respecting Italian bar. never been inside a Star#ucks since.

Nearly all commercial coffee is badly brewed
All batches of coffee beans have differing levels of moisture, but are roasted using timers. The way they compensate for different moisture is to just overroast the crap out of everything, making it all bitter and destroyin the subtler flavors.
At least, that's how I understand it - I could be getting some of the details wrong. I hear all this from a very talented roaster friend of mine who uses his nose to judge when a batch is properly roasted.
It's possible you wouldn't like it no matter what, but many people who find a good, independent brewer discover that they like coffe after years of thinking they hated it. :-)
Never was a big fan of Starbucks
It was good in a pinch if on the road..(a step above the gas station or quicky mart coffee)
Having been in the Army for most of my life, and having traveled extensively, I think I have had some of the worst AND some of the best coffee on earth..lol
