Starbucks New Logo, Using Sex To Sell Coffee?
Starbucks New Logo, Using Sex To Sell Coffee?
Starbucks' new logo for their new roast has caused an uproar. Neither the logo nor the coffee is new, Starbucks re-introduced their 1971 to go along with a more traditional, regular roast of coffee.
The logo features a 2-finned mermaid that is naked from the waist up and has her 2 tail fins held up in a spread eagle fashion.
Using sex to sell a product is nothing new either. The naked, spread eagled mermaid on the Starbuck cup has stirred up protests and a call for a Starbucks boycott.
One group who is protesting the new Starbucks sex log is referring to the coffee house as 'Slutbucks'.
Starbucks expensive coffee is already in trouble in this slow economy, that's why the company is going back to an old logo and introducing a more mainstream regular coffee. Will a little sex on the side of the coffee help or hurt their business remains to be seen.
