Start singing—and drive safer
Next time you’re behind the wheel and Sheryl crow rocks your radio, sing along. Crooning might help you drive better- and possibly save your life. Listening to music may help reduce road rage and decrease the chance of an accident. Good drivers always said that music relaxed them when driving and helped them stay alert.
Following along with familiar music and repetitive lyrics keeps your brain engaged. Changes in your posture and breathing when you sing keep you from getting sleepy. But be careful if you’re more tempted to crank a techno wizard like Moby than a pop queen like crow. Fast, loud music like dance and punk rock is more distracting than softer fare like light rock, pop, and classical. Younger people who listen to the raucous stuff while driving are even more prone to accidents, a survey showed.
Listening to a radio drama? That could be nearly as bad as punk. Next to aggressive music, radio talk seems to be the most distracting.
Tips: Burn a CD with your favorite film song or a soothing album song.

This is really true. Whenever I am singing while driving, I am always way more relaxed. You have to be though with all of the idiots that are out there. Very smart article!
