Starving yourself is not healthy.
Starving yourself is not healthy.
A couple of days ago I watched America's Top Model and the winner was a girl who was a full sized model. Although, I would not consider her "fat" by any means, she was larger than the average model that all tend to be pencil thin. I was very surprised to see her win. I thought maybe they were doing the politically correct thing, but when she won it made me realize that perhaps they are starting to see things more realistically. I thought it was wonderful that they chose her because women tend to be a lot heavier than they used to be and a full size model reflects women today.
I am on the heavy side and it always has kind of irritated me that all that is shown women who are thin or very thin. They need to start getting real in the magazines, TV and so on and I am glad that they picked a full sized model to win. It is a step in the right direction. It will promote, perhaps, a healthier concept.
I am very upset when I see some of my friends complaining that they are too fat when in fact they need a good meal. They drink water and eat lettuce leaves and sometime "pig out" on a slice of cucumber. I am being dramatic I know, but this mania for super sticks is ridiculous. The only people that aren't quite so big those stick thin models that enjoy starving themselves and want to starve themselves to stay on top. Obviously starving yourself is not healthy and I for one am not willing to do it, so I guess I'll never be a model.
It's time people took notice and appreciated all women.
I think it’s high time the fashion industry took a look at what women really look like today.
