Stay Steadfast

Stay Steadfast

Once upon a time, there was a young man named Ralph. Ralph had a good life...or so he though; he had a loving girlfriend, excellent grades: "Steady A's are long miles above average; that's even more than we should expect." often explained his parents, whenever Ralph would lament about doing less than perfect on this or that test (Ralph was a senior at James Norwell High, and was already admitted to the University of Washington, which did not prove difficult due to his parents' alumni status and his own good grades and exemplatory SAT score.

For the last three and a half years, Ralph had seen high school as just another trial before college, at which point he could "live for once". During his senior year though, Ralph began to seriously slack off in class, or not go to class at all, something he would never have done his first three years. Ralph graduated with an abysmal 2.0 GPA, but that was of no importance to him with his future so assured. He would work hard in college; his senior year was just a break from the usual stress of work and school.

in early July, Ralph recieved a letter from the University of Washington. In short, the letter calmly informed Ralph that due to his severe decline in academic performance during his last academic year, his acceptance to UW had to be unoftunatly revoked. Ralph was devastated, as were his parents, who Ralph had succesfully alienated.

Ralph's personaly story was fiction, but it is no lie that UW had to do to Real People who did what Ralph did: not work as seniors in high school, and consquencly were "given the boot".

The moral here is "Stay Steadfast" and "presevere"

Thank'ee.
