The Story of a Single Father that I Know

I know this Single dad, and he makes me wonder at times.

The dad is a real piece of work. That might be the problem, he is always at work. He works hard; he is the CEO of an international business. Yet, when he does come home, he tells a couple of his kids that they are nothing, no good, and lazy. I have seen him slap their dinner down on the table and tell them that he will restock the pantry at the beginning of next month, until then, they are on their own. This guy is rich. I know he has a tight budget because of all the loans and liabilities he has out, but he makes me wonder at times.

That might be part of the problem; he is trying to run his household like a business. You know he has maids and butlers watching over his kids and this can be costly. He actually sends some of his kids lavish gifts. He tends to spoil them with everything they desire. When they get into trouble he just throws money at them. I remember a recent episode when a couple of his kids were having troubles with their businesses, you know because of the recent downturn in the economy. He spent millions bailing out their businesses and their businesses are still losing money. I heard that it was because of stupid bonus contracts the kids had previously signed with the managers of their businesses. I was thinking he should have just let them file bankruptcy, learn their lessons, and start over fresh. The nice thing about the complete failure of a business is that it really makes you think, “What did I do wrong?” Plus, you get to start over and rehire, and not be bound be liabilities from the first company.

He has a son that is in prison for murder, rape, burglary, and assault. And one of his sons is a member of a gang. I try not to let that affect me on my thoughts towards him. But, it is hard not to associate the two, you know how it goes. ‘Like Father, like son.’ But that is not always the case, but I wonder ‘the apple usually doesn’t fall far from the tree.’

Oh! Then last week the neighbor down the block was treating their kids horribly. I won’t go into the details, but it was bad. So, this single dad actually went into their home and got rid of the parents. Where the parents went I don’t know, but the rumors were bad. This single dad set that household up with maids, butlers, and guardians till the oldest teenage boy becomes a man. You should hear all the fighting that comes from that house. All the other siblings try to do whatever they can to take possession of all the money from their parents’ inheritance. Because of all the infighting, this single dad had to spend more money on maids and butlers, and had to give the guardians more money. He actually had to get some more trusties involved in their case, because the fighting was so bad. This actually cost him a lot.

I also heard that some of his children actually sneak some of their friends into the house to eat and sleep. I don’t think I mind that so much. Some of those kids look very hungry and haggard.

Quiet a few of his children do drugs, and others are spoiled. Not to associate her with the other kids just mentioned; one of his daughters is an underage, unwed, teen mom, who is pregnant again. I actually don’t blame her. You know, no mom in the house, dad always away working. People need to find fulfillment in their lives; with no parents in the house to lead her into finding her own particular healthy form of fulfillment, who can blame her for choosing what we might call unacceptable.

Then he’s got a couple of kids (yeah, he has a lot of kids), that are super religious. Now, I don’t mind God so much (and that may be a true statement in more ways than one), but some of these try to force their belief down their brothers and sisters throats through guilt and shame, but never actually help them. I think they actually really don’t love their brothers and sisters, they are just like there dad; trying to run religion like a business.

But, he does have a couple of daughters that are the most caring, concern, and loving creatures I ever did meet. They give out of the little they have (the dad will have nothing to do with those two, that make me wonder more about the dad). I talked to them the other day, but we didn’t get to talk long; they had an appointment to see their brother in prison. I hear rumors about them that they actually take in orphans, and care for widows. I heard they work long hours so they have something to give to someone else. I hope they are extremely blessed by their God. Wow, I guess the family is not all bad.

He has a couple kids that are actually doing all right. They are married and lead respectable lives. Their children are doing well, going to college to become doctors and lawyers and such, so they can help out their aunts and uncles. I hope they are blessed too by God. Actually, I hope he and all his kids become blessed.

Well, I guess I should talk about some good things this father has done. He is actually a very giving man. And he has put his life on the line a couple of times to help his neighbors. One day long ago, this single day actually ran into a neighbors burning house, that the dad of that house set on fire, and he saved quiet a few of the children. He actually was burned badly in the incident, but I think he has healed fully since then. I truly hope so. The incident happened at 661944 Apt D. Day Ave. I think it was in Europe somewhere. I just mention it so you can check into it and know that I am not fibbing.

I probably shouldn’t tell you his name, that is probably gossiping, but somebody might want to ponder this. Well here goes; it’s against my better judgment I tell you, but the authorities may need to be notified. The name this single dad is: the government of the United States of America. So, if you are concerned please call the authorities at 1-800-the-voters ext. the People of the United States of America. They are the true authorities and are probably the only one that can do anything about it.

Higher Self, I love when that happens

I love when my higher self sneaks in and does better that I ever thought I could do. I wish it would happen more often. Especially since I depend on it to sneak out every once and a while to write for me. "Here Higher self, higher self, higher self, can you come out and play today?" You're welcome, Wdzzz

I have to say, though, that it was more my "higher self" writing it than anything because I just reread the story and my comment and thought "Wow". LOL But what I like about your story is that it reframes the history of this great country into something that people today can relate to and appreciate, which is the important first step in creating a productive dialogue about fixing the problems. This single dad has multiple personality disorder

He spent so much of his life trying to be a pleaser because that was what was expected that he ended up losing himself and his personality fractured under the pressure. Now, he is trying to take direction from all the voices in his head rather than listen to his heart and do what's best for everyone. Great article, Wdzzz. +1 CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!
