Streaming Sports Websites That Participate in Comment Spamming: Partial List of Link Spammers

There are websites and blogspots are notorious for their participation in comment spamming. They have attacked many websites with their constant barrage of spam comments. When they are identified and their accounts are blocked, they return with new accounts and continue their spam campaigns.

For example, on Xomba.com< strong> the spammmers Yogiram and Robotron have participated in a continuous campaign of spamming comments and posting links to these and other live streaming sports links. the Xomba staff does their best to delete their accounts as soon as possible and remove these spam posts, however they constantly return. As I write this, Yogiram is up to his 20th reincarnation as Yogiram20.

They are also prevalent on other sites such as indianbytes, humsurfer and others that are more tolerant of spammers.

Yogiram's account on Digg was immediately removed after they were contacted and informed. They were very responsive. This Yogiram character is also on Yahoo Answers as Yogiram Y.

If you do a Google search for yogiram streaming you will get an idea of how widespread and pervasive these spammers can be.

The following is a partial list, (I will add more as they continue), of websites and blogspots that have participated in this type of activity or may have had unscrupulous 'web developers' or 'seo firms' flood the internet with their spam. (These have been found in comment spam and spam postings on Xomba.com)

Report Link Spamming Blogspots Like Yogiram's HERE

There is a link provided above to report offending blogspots, however it seems that Blogger is slow to respond and does not provide any feedback after you report spamming blogspots. Click here to find out how you can get paid to post items like this. It's free and easy to join.

Blogspots

It seems that blogger is more interested in keeping link spamming off of their blogs, but they are a bit slow to take action if these blogspots are participating in link or comment spamming of other websites. I reported several, but they are still up and running. I was hoping that if many people reported the same blogspot, they might take notice. I don't have too much time to worry about yogi and boo-boo, but Digg responded quickly by zapping yogi's account. (probably has a new one already) Click here to find out how you can get paid to post items like this. It's free and easy to join.

my attempt at a solution

OK, here is my solution. Will need a little programming so best to have feedback from the admins. I take my inspiration from the way forum moderators work. Also, I'm sure many Americans don't see the problem coz they don't see the spam as it gets cleaned up in their morning. But those of us in Asia and Europe see it every day. The least intrusive method, I think, is to designate some User Mods. They don't need to have access to the mod interface. There is already a "Flag this" for both posts and comments. At the moment it is a pure on-off switch. If, however, you assign a number to it then one or more User Mods and normal users can flag offending posts and comments. Can set it to 2 or 3 flags and then the post is removed from the system. Say 5 flags for a user comment and their account is blocked. Both these things can be temporary and admins can come in and review the flags, just as they do now. The crucial difference is that nobody else sees them until such review. What do you think? Lay off my toes!

Yeah, I realize blocking an IP address can be problematic. So I wonder if there's a way to at least flag a new account request or otherwise let admins know if someone from a previously spam-related IP tries to register again.

Keeping You On Your Toes

Sometimes we like to put a little fire under you guys and get your opinions. We're not Digg. We don't punish everyone for what a few are doing.

I'm very relaxed

But you did say that you were *thinking* of banning links to Blogspot.

Relax

We're not going to ban blogspot. Read more below about the problems with banning ips. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Blocking_IP_addresses
