Student Wizards In China Work Magic With Harry Potter

On the same day the English version of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" was released, teams of Chinese students purchased copies in English and worked round the clock to translate the beloved book into the Chinese language.

They kept in contact on the internet and reported themselves to be eating nothing but instant noodles so as to lose no time translating the 732 page volume.

Translated copies were posted on the internet within 24 hours, on July 21,2007. Remember the International Date Line comes into play here.

Not wishing to be charged with copyright infringement, which is a major problem in China, they published a disclaimer.

"We translated the book because we love Harry, and we do not intend to use it for commercial purposes."
