'Vitamin C' Reduces Risk of Contracting Gout

20-year study of nearly 47,000 men shows that Vitamin C reduces the risk of contracting the painful joint disease gout. The researchers believe that daily supplements of the vitamin C found in sprouts, peppers and oranges has dual action, that of easing inflammation and also of lowering uric acid levels in the body that go awry in gout.
