This article reports a study that found that subjects who received frown-impairing botox injections felt happier, had less anxiety, and had altered brain activity in parts of the brain involved in emotion compared to subjects that had not received botox and could frown. The article explains study results that suggest that this effect is not due to people feeling happy because of the cosmetic results of botox and suggest that this effect is due to the botox recipients inability to frown.
