Stumptown Coffee - The best coffee I have ever experienced!

Stumptown Coffee - The best coffee I have ever experienced!

New York ain't got nothing on the Great Northwest when it comes to coffee. I think the richest and best coffee is made by Stumptown Coffee Roasters, in Portland, Oregon!

Stumptown is in the process of opening in New York City, and New Yorkers will, finally, experience what rich coffee is all about.

I, myself, go through the hassles of traveling on three buses and a twenty mile journey to buy Stumptown Coffee. It's an addiction that's easy to explain.

I use an Espresso Machine (a DeLonghi) to make my coffee. My machine uses 20 lbs. of pressure. When you put the coffee in the holder, packed tight, of course, most coffees, including Starbucks, Portland Roasting, Pete's, and Tully's, loose the dark color, as the coffee drops into your cup fairly fast, although they do hold up and are many levels above our parents old standard of Folgers or Yuban.

Stumptown's deep dark savory flavor and color lasts far longer, thus, giving you more for your money, more for your taste buds, more of the essense of smell, and produces a whole experience of what coffee is all about. Stumptown Coffee is an adventure attractable to all the senses.

Stumptown has figured out the perfect roasting process.

As, Stumptown explains, "The delicate hand-picked seeds containing sugars and natural perfumes are roasted in our old-school, cast-iron German Probat machines. The green beans go through a metamorphosis in the hands of our roasters who guide them through a constant evaluation of colors, aromas, sounds, and shapes while tumbling through our vintage double-walled steel drum roasters."

The company offers some very special, limited edition, coffees via their website. It's worth a visit. And, this is not a commercial, but, you should try this coffee!

And if you get into Portland or Seattle, "you are invited to come watch Stumptown's crew roast at their Division café in Portland, or their 12th Avenue Café in Seattle, because this is what they're into. All day long."

Stash Tea - freebies

Did ya know Stash Tea has a factory outlet down in the business park, I think off Durham Rd -- you know, where it dumps into the business park near Tualatin. We stopped there last week and they gave me lots of samples, like maybe 20 different varieties... ah, yes, I'm out of Stumptown.....yuk.....forced to use Folgers... :-(
