Celanith Hello everyone, stop and set awhile. I am not sure what is happening on FOX as we don't get FOX we get ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS and THIS Movie Channel off the converter box and antenna. I did hear that there are some congressmen or women who are objecting to some of the commercials that are geared toward adult pharmecudical meds and some other commercials like womens femine hygine commercials. I have LONG complained about this problem during times children are watching. First there was supposed to be a standard of no adult language or t.v before 8:00 p.m at night however the last 10 years t.v has ignored it. Even the sit-coms ( I call them sick coms as most are more stupid than funny so I rarely watch them) are geared more to adults than to kids. The good shows for family have gone. Replaced by Sex in the City and Two and half men or Ugly Betty and BetteroffTed, Entertainment tonight all about the celebrities and their lives, sex, divorce, drug problems etc. It is wrong. At least CBS has game shows still which are educational up to 8:00. It was assumed most kids were in bed by 9:00 then the adults had shows geared toward adults from 9:00 to 11:00 it is no longer that way. There is more and more murder shows, sex shows and very little in the way of family oriented t.v you can watch with your children that does not have some sort of sex scandal going on. At least some of the reality shows are not as bad though the language is crude by some at times. What happened to shows like Little House, The Waltons, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, The Beverly Hillbillies, I Love Lucy and The Andy Griffith show? Disney Movies etc. We have gross sitcoms that are perverted and hardly funny most are geared to sex and relationships between adults or teens that really should be enjoying life not worried about sex and birth control. But parents also need to be knowing what their kids are watching. However we don't need viagra and genital herpes commercials for kids to be watching and then asking what that means. Those are geared to adults and should be aired for adult times, the same for feminine birth control and hygine and even bras and underware. As to commercials geared to kids and junk cereal and toys. I told my kids NO and I tell my grandkids NO and why. Kids do NOT NEED CELL PHONES and to be TEXTING, they don't need their own laptop and neither do we. My husband and son keep telling me I should get a laptop. Why? I don't want one, don't need one. When I go shopping or on a trip I want to leave my computer home. I don't need it on vacation. I don't want or need a stupid phone that takes pictures either and I certainly don't like or want texting. I hate all those selfish me commercials and NO I CANNOT HEAR YOU now. There are a LOT of dead zones around still so it is false advertizing. Most breakfast cereals and bars are packed with SUGAR and not good for you as are sodas and colas. Commercials are to get you to buy, buy, buy want you don't need. Credit card commercials are to get you in debt and keep you there with high interest rates. Pharmecudial companies tell you about all the bad side affects of their drugs and a lot will kill you or cause damage to vital organs why should I take the risk? That is why I use natural as much as possible and went clear off all pharmecudical medication and even most OTC meds. I am a whole lot healthier because of it. If they are pushing an ad to sell something it is about their profit margin not about making you happier, healthier or better. Don't buy into it. It is one thing to have available porn t.v you as an adult subscribe to the same with magazines, photos or even the net. It is another to put it out there on family time t.v when they KNOW kids are watching. T.V is 24/7 now and there are hundreds of channels. There is NO need to have ads and porn t.v during family time which is usually from 7 p.m to 9:00 p.m however there is NO NEED to even watch t.v why not take a nature walk, go for a swim at the Y or spa or play games or read instead. Or pop in a family video or dvd. If t.v is going to produce garbage during family time turn the t.v off and do something else. After awhile the ratings will drop when they get the idea we don't like it.

I doubled posted once but I re-raced it. I believe at least one foot should be on the ground when couples are kissing on T.V. I believe the bad guy should never get away with the crime on T.V... I believe an emphatic can be said without using profanity on T.V. If you want it pay for it. Kids can't afford it. Tell me what is wrong with rules. Specter turned plum democrat

Any solution is too late for a substantial section of technology corrupted youngsters. They needed responsible, caring adults but they were born to either too stupid or too selfish parents who just didn't understand their role. How can we help them?
