Suprise!! Suprise!! The Bush Administration's and it's Climate Change Lies!!

Can you believe it? The Bush Administration pressured U.S. scientists into altering some of their writings on global climate change! According to Francesca Grifo of the watchdog group Union of Concerned Scientists, as reported by Reuters, "Our investigations found high-quality science struggling to get out." His group found a total of 435 incidents reported by 150 climate scientists over the past five years in which they experienced political interference. The Reuters article went on to quote Grifo as saying, "Nearly half of all respondents perceived or personally experienced pressure to eliminate the words 'climate change,' 'global warming' or other similar terms from a variety of communications." Pat Robertson might try to dismiss this as a conspiracy by science to scare us all away from God and religion. I have another thought. The chief of staff at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, Phil Cooney, was a lobbyist for the American Petroleum Institute before taking his job with the White House. I might be a little off here, but I think this guy might have been slightly biased toward big-oil. He was an oil lobbyist, who better to over-see a commitee intended to help us protect our environment! Well he must have done a great job for the American Petroleum Institute while he was the Chief of Staff at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. Why, you ask? Well when he retired from his position as Chief of Staff at the WHCEQ he was hired on by oil giant Exxon Mobile, and we all know how much they care about the environment.

These climate scientists, who we will assume are not conspiring against God (if you took the conspiracy thing seriously, you might be a Jesus freak), may actually know something about our climate. I know it seems obvious, climate scientist, its right there in the name. With Bush's record on appointments up to now these so-called climate scientists could really be simple horse show directors (if you don't remember Michael Brown he was the former head of FEMA) or old college buddies of W's. Yes, George attended college. I know his third grade speaking level and retarded comprehension level seem to make that an impossibility, but its true! If we elected him our President, what does that say about us? He actually attended and graduated from college. Not just any college either, Harvard. I still laugh when I think about him as a Harvard cheerleader! This guy is our President! Wow!

Anyway, if you have your doubts about climate change do some homework and don't listen to the garbage Fox News and the current White House administration spew at you. Most of it is meant to help us forget about the responsibility that these oil companies and many other large corporations have to their customers and the climate in which these customers live. I sometimes wonder if they aren't all waiting for Jesus and making as much money as they can before he comes and "saves them". I wish he would come "save" them now so there could be some semblance of peace and responsible living on this planet, Earth, currently our only home. Oh! Maybe that's why Bush wants to go to Mars! He couldn't find oil in Texas! Maybe he'll find it there.

Please accept my apology.

I apologize for having gone a little overboard. I get frustrated when people comment on something they clearly haven't read. Also, I would not have replied with name calling had I not thought it the norm on this site. I have had a few replies to things I've written that were all name calling. I promise I will not reply to these people with their tactics anymore. Again, I apologize.

Debate but don't let it get personal.

Xomba welcomes political debate, however we do ask you do not allow it to spiral into personal attacks. No one respects a person when their just calling the other names. We completely understand heated conversation on certain subjects, but we must ask you to please play nice.

Thanks Ari - you proved my

Thanks Ari - you proved my point. And yes, I made a typo - I should have typed UCS, not UCC. I found it interesting that Idlewild and I disagreed strongly with each other without resorting to name calling. You on the other hand, start off with the name calling and just heap it on from there. http://www.xomba.com/xombyte/thewonderer

Your still a jackass!

If you are going to reply to what someone writes, don't make up and add your own facts as it pleases you. I've already had to respond to your foolish comments once. This is the second and hopefully last time. I never said that bush didn't legitimately win against Gore. If you didn't read and/or understand what I wrote than you should not comment. I will say this one more time! PHILL COONEY is one of the people who put pressure on the scientists, just as I stated in the original article. The scientist, all 150 of them, worked with the Bush administration on climate change issues at one time or another. DUH! If you couldn't figure that out than you really shouldn't be on this site. This is all in the original article you dingle berry! I never stated my feelings about christians. I used the term Jesus freak in a joking manner. It's obvious I offended you by saying anything about Jesus or Bush. Too Bad!!!! You offend me with your horrible writing skills and poor comprehension level, but you just keep replying and making things up like people aren't able to read what I wrote for themselves. Why don't you check back with me after you get hooked on phonics.

Open your eyes or up your reading and comprehension level!

First, identified in the article as one of the people applying pressure was Phil Cooney. Wow! Look what happens when you actually read the article and aren't hell bent on ripping on people about what they write. If you did read the article you would have noticed that what you call the UCC is actually the Union of Concerned Scientists or UCS. You ask where they found the 150 scientist? That is a great question. Where the hell do you think they found the 150 scientists that felt pressure from the Bush administration? Oh! They all worked for or with the Bush administration at one time or another! Does that help you? If not, have someone who is above a second grade comprehension level explain it to you. The Jesus freak thing was a total joke! I'm sorry you were born missing your sense of humor! Also, I didn't say that people who doubted the climate scientists were Jesus freaks. I said if you took the conspiracy thing seriously you might be a Jesus freak! Guess what you are! Ha, ha, ha!!!! Either you didn't read what I wrote or you have the comprehension of an eight year old and shouldn't be impersonating an editor in the first place! I never said that the American people were stupid for electing Bush. You made that assumption. I asked what it said about us that we elected him. That is not saying we are stupid, rather it may be that we are too lazy to do the homework we need to when voting. It may be that we were decieved. It could be that the elections were fraudulant. Whatever it is, it is not because we are stupid. Again you took my words and changed them to fit your . You say what I wrote taught you George is mentally retarded. I never used the words mentally retarded. I said his comprehension level was retarded. Two different things. Finally, the oil companies waiting for Jesus was also taken out of context. I simply said that I sometimes wonder if they aren't waiting for Jesus to return and making as much money as they can before he gets here. If you had any understanding of how sarcasm works, you would have realized that I was implying the oil companies and many large corporations do not seem to care what happens to our environment (as if it doesn't matter because Jesus will fix it all when he comes back). IF you ever aquire a sense of humor and a higher comprehension level you should try to be an editor again (you should think about going to school first). Otherwise stay in chat rooms where you can understand what is being written. Thank you for not coming close to enlightening anyone. And in case you forgot, people will probably read my article before they read your pathetic attempt at critiquing my work. What does that mean? You and W will probably be the only ones who just don't get it. Before I forget, I am able to disagree with people without assuming they are missing something upstairs. George just really doesn't have anything up there. Money is what really determines who has the best campaign, isn't it? George W. Bush had more money raised for his first run at president than all the other candidates combined before he even announced he was running. So no, I definitely don't think George's intelligence or lack there of had anything to do with his winning the elections. Because of your ridiculous reply to my article I now know this: -You can't read very well. -You don't understand what you can read. -You are a Jesus freak! (If you still don't get the joke you should hang yourself from a ceiling fan) -You like to twist people's words to fit your own simplistic and humor devoid world. -You may actually have to look some of the words in my reply up in the dictionary.

Climate Change Scientists,

Climate Change Scientists, Officials Testify on Allegations of Administration Interference By Dan Robinson http://www.voanews.com/english/2007-01-30-voa76.cfm But there are many others. http://news.google.com/news?q=union+of+concerned+scientists&hl=en&rls=com 1) get rid of the whistle blowers protection! (done) 2) make a big effort to keep climate science out of the public eye. (Threaten and coerce scientists, especially threaten their grant funding) (Done.) 3) Get those pesky detectors off noaa satelites that measure pollution and climate change signals. (done) There is not enough rope to hang all those involved in Washington. But once the hanging starts, it should not stop until we got them all. The real question is: Should they hang together, or separately. All i can say is when the right one is finally touched and sings, you will see what a real disgrace was in the 2000 and 2004 elections, and if the singer is good enough you will see rope furnished from every state in the union. There will be a sufficient supply. Congress is 'in on it?' You bet. You bet. They are your representatives and senators, and they represent you? Only if you have an incredible amount of wealth, influence, or power over the international oil picture. They are part of it. Article V, learn about the fact that all 50 states have requested a convention to propose amendments. Not 2/3 -- all. Congress is worried the power might be taken from them and yielded to the people where it actually resides. If you are an American do you even know what Article V is about? It is the promise the Federalist's made to the states to allow them to change power, change the Constitution and rescue America. Ask your elected officials why they won't talk to you about it? Suggest they be held to account as federal law provides. See what they say? Don't let up.

Whatever, Idlewild. I was

Whatever, Idlewild. I was addressing Ari's xombyte; you chose to respond. http://www.xomba.com/xombyte/thewonderer

Not on topic

If you think my comments are "not on topic", why do you keep replying to them? I responded to the subject of the elections, which YOU brought up. If that's not relevant to the xombyte, why did you mention it in the first place? If you don't like the writer's comments on global warming, Bush, etc., address them to him, not me. As far as I'm concerned this horse has officially been beaten to death and I won't reply to it anymore.

Okay, once more, with

Okay, once more, with feeling: the 2000 election results are irrelevant to the climate change issue discussed in the original xombyte. After the xombyte made irrelevant ad hominen attacks on Bush's intelligence and those who voted for him, I pointed out that the simple fact that he won 2 elections indicates he wasn't the fool portrayed in the xombyte. I made that statement to refute the irrelevant ad hominen attack. I know more about the writer's feelings about Bush, Christians, "Jesus Freaks" and oil companies than his position about the climate change issue that was the purported subject of his xombyte. You made a comment that he didn't legitimately win against Gore. Fine. It's still not on topic and a separate debate. I'll modify my original statement: ad hominen attacks against Bush and his supporters have nothing to do with merits or lack of merits of specific climate change theories or purported pressures against their supporters. http://www.xomba.com/xombyte/thewonderer

Once more, with feeling

"Is it possible you can disagree with him and acknowledge that he might have something upstairs to win two presidential elections?" TW, I was just referring to that comment of yours. That's all. The idea that because someone "won" two elections that that is proof of his intelligence. Notice I have not said anything about Bush's intelligence, etc. Just pointing out what I see is a flaw in your logic in that one statement. I did not call anyone stupid; that's in the orignal xombyte, not in my comments.
