Surat : Traffic a major problem.

When leave my home for office from Ghod Daud to Textile market what I see is that we may be boasting of having large flyovers connecting about every corner of the city but problem of traffic is still there.
If I leave 9 am or earlier my home, I am lucky to reach home because that time there is not traffic at all. But if I am late a bit and its 10 am then it takes about 30 minutes more to reach my destination. And if I take rout of flyover then it’s relieving but if I make mistake by coming old land road then you have to wait and wait traffic signal.
Question arises here in spite of such a large numbers of flyovers why there is such a heavy traffic at rust time? There are few pints what I saw
.
1.Population of Surat is growing fast: Since Surat is world’s fastest growing city, merchants of textile and diamonds prefer to do business here. Because Surat is business center of Textile and diamond. Vehicles are increasing day-by-day but as compared to that roads are not being constructed as fast.
2. Reckless driving: If you are driving, most probably you would like to take left. But of you drive in Surat city particularly in Ring road and flyovers, forget that. Bikers and car driver can overtake of by any side.
3. Breach of traffic rules: Though as compared to other cities, Surati’s follow traffic rules. But it needs to improve. If you are caught by neglecting zebra-crossing and policeman catches you. I have seen many times you can request and pay even Rs. 10 to 20 instead of Rs.50 and get away from there. But remember, for that amount you are not going to get fine receipt.
4. Public transport: Though there is public transport in Surat, but no one prefers that. The will travel on their on car.
