Surreal Winds

This photograph of windmills in the French countryside was taken by Aeriyn McKelvin in 2007.

The photograph was taken using a Nikon D80 10.2 Megapixel Camera Nikon D80 Digital Camera SLR Outfit With Nikon 18-55 Vibration Reduction Lens - Free Shipping

with a
Sigma 201306 10-20 f4-5.6 DC EX HSM Nikon Digital Zoom Lens

.

The photographer also used a Cokin Graduated Grey Neutral Density Filter. In this landscape where the sky makes up such a large portion of the photograph this filter was used to re-balance the luminosity between the ominous dark and bright white, back-lit clouds and the golden fields.

The windmills extending into the distance draw the viewer into the landscape and their captured motion evokes the feeling of the wind as the clouds swirl above.

This is one of those photos that instantly brings the photographer back into the moment and easily transports the viewer into the landscape to share the experience.

Yes, it is. I was happy to share.

I would encourage you to go let Ms McKelvin know on her DeviantArt profile where you can leave comments. I like to encourage talented people. There are some amazingly talented people on there. Some are quite young, too. I posted a couple of photographs a while back from a talented 16 year old Australian photographer. Beauty is Flawed Although it was a nice photo, my post was more about the title and what it said about the nature of beauty.

Talented People

There are a lot of talented people on there. Sometimes you have to wade through a lot of other stuff to find the gems. Nikon D300 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens

beautiful and eerie at the same time. I like a number of those things you've posted from DeviantArt.
