Is Susan Boyle about to Burst? YOU DECIDE

Is Susan Boyle about to Burst? YOU DECIDE

Imagine you are Susan Boyle – allow me to help you do just that:

Imagine you come from an unheard of, small Scottish village. Your job is quite boring. You sing in a church choir on a Sunday. You’ve had no male attention. You’re not a looker and everybody treats you like that. Like what? Like Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell famously treated you before your first performance on Britain’s Got Talent.

They treated you like you were a waste of space. Like because you didn’t have a designer body, hair extensions and high-fashion label clothes you were beneath contempt. Like you were an inferior because you were a middle-aged woman. Like you were stupid because you hadn’t plucked your eyebrows and – unforgiveable these – you dared to have a double chin and your teeth didn’t look like they’d been replaced with bleached pearls!

Then, as if in a dream, you sang. You sang so well that Holden cried. Piers pinched himself and Cowell, for the first time in his life, looked gob-smacked. The audience stood and cheered you, pronounced you a national treasure. YouTube almost disintegrated as news of your amazing talent spread across the pond.

So you walked off the stage and ALL those people who had treated you like sh*t since you could remember treated you – not slightly different but completely different. The brown-nosing yes-men surrounded you and your new life had begun.

How would you cope? YOU DECIDE

The Pleasures of Singing in the Bathtub...

Oh for a sound-proofed bathroom, lashings of hot water for endless top-ups and the time to sing in a bath tub. Reminds me of a suite I occupied, in the good old days, while staying in Oviedo, northern Spain, in the Hotel Jiraffe (Sp?) meaning giraffe - it was tall!. There's a suggestion for Susan Boyle and guess what? with windows all around - you get a great view of the fireworks on the top floors. if i were Susan ,i'd take the money and hide for a spell

If i were Susan ,i 'd recognise that i am now riding high on the crest of an emotional wave generated by the collective guilty conscience of all who had watched the audition. That spunky , spritely attitude , the almost irreverence shown to 'dare i say' royal highness of talent shows. Instinctively, all who were watching , dreaded what may come after she sang, concerned she'd might be torn apart by remarks that'll follow,so sure were we, then she sang , and that voice stirred emotions, touched a raw nerve of those watching, but more importantly ,brought us in touch with a base instinct suggesting that innately we are a bit cruel to judge. Reminded us of our 'so human predictability.' So now she's are surfing high on a wave of emotion brought on by euphoria of approval. Shattered convincingly, the preconceived notions of those who were watching that she was going to fall. 100 million you tube hits, thats a monster of an emotional wave she's are surfing on now. Don't get wiped out, Susan, the wave will dissipate in time but you 've shown what you can do ,proven a point to us all , made us feel good. The world isnt going to forget you now .Your voice and persona, thats your treasure ,take a break ,go somewhere incognito ,for a month or two to gather your thoughts ,and decide on how you are going to deal with your fame.Come to terms with it. you;ve already carve a niche into the collective consciousness of millions,as a entertainer with a voice that stirs emotions. So if i was Susan ,i'd drop everything for a spell,go for a holiday and disappear, tell no one where i am except for close friends and kin. Then come back and enchant us all again when she's good and ready.

Good Point about Susan Boyle - Thank You

You are right, everybody is beautiful. What right has anyone to set the standard or definition? She does have a smiley face - the sort of face that children warm to. The Susan Boyle Saga had a

The Susan Boyle Saga had a two page feature in The Indepedent yesterday. Nothing added to what has been said in this article or its comments. My point is that Susan is pretty. She has a kind and smiling face. Who decides who is pretty and who is not? People are lookists!

But Why Can't She Just Sing, Get Paid, Go Home? (Susan Boyle)

Why can't she just sing and bring pleasure without all the adverse media attention? What is it with the UK press? You expect it from the gutter press but even The Guardian wased in on this one... What sort of press coverage has she had in the USA? JOIN XOMBA HERE FREE Xomba is an international online community and anyone can join. Poor Susan Boyle

I feel sorry for this woman. She was clearly not cut out to handle this kind of pressure despite her dream of being a singer. Join Xomba Get PAID to write Articles Like These Honest Online Income

Susan Boyle exhausted + another question:

When I discussed Susan Boyle and the point raised by jdubhub with other women, they were in agreement with him apart from one point. This was that her past invisibility had suddenly been replaced with absolute visibility which could lead to exhaustion. Sometimes you wish you didn't get things right... Susan was committed yesterday evening. This moring on Radio 4 a friend and past voic coach of hers defended her against various hacks - most notably the Guardian who announced she had Learning Difficulties to its readership. He said that Susan understood lyrics in a way that someone with Learning Difficulties could not. Then he said she wasn't the sort of woman who liked attention and she had found everything too much. She is exhausted. Another Question: Why can't she just sing and bring pleasure without all the other media attention? The Boyle Didn't Burst and (re Susan Boyle)

Susan Boyle didn't burst so mark yourself accordingly. Seems the press may have exaggerated her outburst - even made them up. She came second but with grace (someone needs a brownie point for predicting that!) Methinks she'll be fine now. She's coping well with her visibility and its one more person (her family and friends too) needn't worry so much for their futures). Not under any illusion that she'll read this so congratulations to anyone else making breakthroughs of this nature. If you want to predict what happens next or tell the world that you knew it would happen like this but didn't speak of or write it down until now (yeah sure!) please add your comment to do so. The Invisible Woman

I really hope you're right jdubhub. The reports you quote seem to make sense and concur, to a great extent, with what the women I've spoken to about this have said but there's something else - I hope I'll be able to express it: The experience of women I have been talking to about this reckon this unusual circumstance throws up a slightly different issue. Good looking women are used to male attention until they reach a certain age. At this point they become invisible. Others are always invisible and never get male attention. What's happening to Susan is completely different. She is suddenly getting everybody's attention and because of the nature of the business in which she is now in the attention of those yes men and women (mentioned in the article) who will pander and creep - as is their nature Being invisible is difficult to accept for some women, others get used to it quickly. Eventually they enjoy it. It brings with it a sense of relaxation and calm. Like merging into the background, becoming one with something. Invisibility demands little. Their point is that the opposite path must be exhausting... JOIN XOMBA HERE FREE Xomba is an international online community and anyone can join. Latest Reports Suggest SuBo is about to Burst

Hacks in the UK are reporting that Susan Boyle (SuBo) as they now term her has been involved in two incidents of temper tantrums. Reports this evening are that she may be withdrawn from tomorrow's final for fear she'll "melt down" on stage. This could all be a pile of tosh but it lacks the grace and class you (and me) wish her... JOIN XOMBA HERE FREE Xomba is an international online community and anyone can join.
