Sweet 16

Well it is almost here! My beautiful baby girl will be 16 in a couple weeks. Has it really been so long since I held her tiny hand in mine and watched as that dimple in her cheek turned the nurses to mush? Her big grey eyes framed with long midnight eyelashes looking up at me for the first time. I remember not feeling scared, though I was but 17 when she was born. As soon as we met I knew nothing would ever stand in my way of making her safe and happy. I watched as her Daddy laid her on his chest and fell asleep watching her in wonder. So much power in such a tiny little package. Our lives would forever be changed.

She grew and we watched. Chubby fingers grasping crayons, the more she smiled, the deeper that famous dimple became. Babies have a way of making everything better. How can you see such pure innocence and love and not feel your heart swell with joy. I had no idea it would fly so fast. I never minded the up and down feedings or the late night play sessions. It was just more time I would get to see her grow up. First steps and tumbles, scrapes I got to kiss and make the tears dry up. Now she is so independent and driving me around!!

I still love to watch her every movement, she is still amazing. Growing into a wonderful caring person. There is no better gift in the world than to realize your children are good, respectful caring people. I bask in the compliments when someone says how polite , sweet, lovely she is. Much too soon she will go to find her own way, I only hope she knows how truly wonderful I think she is. She looks at me like a hero and a teacher but I have never learned so much in my life. Happy sweet 16 baby girl, may all your dreams come true!

Very touching post that should be printed and framed as a gift from your heart to your precious daughter. : ) Sending Happy Thoughts and Smiles - MJ Avatar: Belief My journey for Balance Subscribe to MJ's Xombytes

That was a really sweet post.

That was a really sweet post. Please make sure you tell her how you feel about her - maybe even include those precious words in her birthday card. I have a card from my dad that has some of the sweetest words I've ever read! I still pull it out and read it from time to time :) I just voted your post up! Aloha ~ Ali
