Switcho Off Light on 29th March 2008 For One Hour
posted March 5, 2008 - 3:11amDid anyone of you hear of this 'EarthHour' before? If you did, then good for you, if you didn't, then you need to know it now.
EarthHour is an event was started On 31 March 2007, where over 2.2 million people and 2100 Sydney businesses turned off their lights for one hour, to show their support to against the Global Warming matter.
According to the statistic, a very massive collective effort was successfully reduced Sydney's energy consumption by over 10.2% for only one hour light turning off. This amount also equivalent to the effect of taking 48,000 cars off the road for a year! Isn’t this truly amazing?
Now, this event become even bigger than before, where there are over 4,303 businesses and 66,711 people (the amount still counting...) have been joined this event. Beside that, there are 23 cities (also still counting...) joined this big event too.
So, if you do care about the global warming, then don't forget to turn off your lights on 8p.m to 9p.m, 29th March 2008 to show your concern.
