Taliban Target Secure NATO Area of Kabul. Explosion Injures Dozens, Kill 7 Afghans

Almost 100 people were injured and 7 killed when an explosion rocked a secure NATO controlled area in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the car bomb which targeted NATO headquarters early Saturday Morning as people were heading to work and opening up shops in the area outside the secure compound. While the Taliban 'target' NATO and US presence in Afghanistan, the casualties they inflict are mostly Afghan civilians.
This latest attack on the Afghan Capital is most likely meant to disrupt and mar the Afghan elections and underminePresident Hamid Karzai and his bid for reelection this month. There may likely be more attempts planned and security in the city has been stepped up.
