Tax Exemption For Charities

The standard tax exemption for charities and nonprofit organisations is threatened. The issue revolves around what actually constitutes charity and wether these organisations actually gives back to their communities. This article looks at how a nonprofit daycare center in Minnesota was forced to pay property tax after the supreme court ruled that they were not giving enough away and therefore could not be considered charity or nonprofit.
