Teachers v babysitters!who wins?

Have you ever thought of being a teacher?

Well, here's some food for thought before you do.

Having been a teacher for a good few years now, most people would describe the job as babysitting but is this the case?

Teacher's pay can range from £20 000 to £28 000 average but lets compare that to if they were a babysitter.

Teachers work for 6.5 hours per day (although most teachers work for a good deal more, sometimes into the early hours)

A typical babysitter can earn around £12.50 an hour.

If you take a normal class from any classroom, it would usually contain 30 pupils.

30 pupils at £12.50 an hour each???mmmmmmm.....thats £375 per hour.

6.5 hours.....£2437.50 a day!Sound good?

Yea...they would argue we don't do the cooking or cleaning, but yea we do clean and for that money, i would make a 3 course banquet and include mints at the end.

So, really, do you really want to become a teacher knowing that you are drastically underpaid?

I think i've got a change in career coming on!
