If you're a college instructor and you find that you've been struggling when trying to get through to your students, maybe you've fallen victim to the generation gap. Today's college students, most of whom were born in the late 1980s/early 1990s fall into what has been labeled "Generation Y" or "The Millennial Generation." GenY/Millennial students approach learning and education much differently than students of past generations, based on their attitudes and upbringing. The differences between Gen Y/Millennial students and those students of previous generations forces instructors to reexamine their teaching methods and try some new techniques in the classroom.
