Easy does it. There is no need to write with $100 words if you’re trying to get understood by as many people as possible.

EXAMPLE: We terminated our cruising episode briefly around noon to satisfy the gastronomic call of nature.

BETTER: We stopped for a quick lunch.

EXAMPLE: He actuated the initiation button to activate the engine to life.

BETTER: He pushed the button to start the engine.

EXAMPLE: There’s no point in inquiring on a regular basis what your country can deliver and guarantee for you and your loved ones. You should instead wonder about the panoply of possibilities that would make it conceivable for you to contribute to the might and welfare of your country.

BETTER: Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.
