Sen. Ted Kennedy checked out of the Boston hospital this morning where just yesterday he was diagnosed with a malignant glioma cancerous brain tumor. Doctors stated that his recovery from the brain biopsy was nothing short of amazing and that the Senator was in great spirits. Supporters and well-wishers were present, waving to Kennedy as he got into his car.

His wife is reported as saying that Kennedy doesn't intend to let a mere malignant glioma brain tumor slow him down as he is still planning on racing in the Figawi, a yearly sailing race from Cape Cod to Nantucket, seemingly a feat for any 76 year old. He also says he has no intention of retiring. He's already ordered his staff back to work.

The prognosis for malignant glioma is grim, with about half of all patients surviving less than a year. His treatment plan has not yet been made public.
