Nowadays teenage pregnancy is on the rise. Every where you turn there's a teenage mom. Is this the trend in America? Do you like it as a parent of a teenage mom. Is it a mistake or should parent try to work more with their daughters so that there won't be too much problems. Having a kid while being a teenager is a big problem.

You would never hear of any good story about teenage pregnancy. The mom will struggle with her daily responsibilities and everything else. Why do young girls want to get pregnant? Sometimes it's not that they want to but it happened accidentally and they don't want and abortion. Many do get abortions. It's a trend that will prevent teens from having a lot of time to take care of their own problems. Some teen haven't even finished high school. They often drop out of High School after being pregnant. They won't go back to school until a year or two later to finish High School. Some teenage mom get so overwhelmed that they even dump their baby in the garbage. You have heard story like this before.

It's never a good idea to have kids when you're not ready. It's alright if you come from a really wealthy family and you have everything and can afford the child then it's perfectly fine. However, this is often not the case. Most teenage girls that do get pregnant come from really bad family. They didn't have the proper counseling and therefore would make reckless decision that they would later regret. Parents can counsel kids more on teenage pregnancy and teach them available options if they do get pregnant.

What should we do about this situation? I think that it has to start in the family of the teenager and this include the girls and the boys. The parents have to be working on communicating with their young ones that teenage pregnancy is not the ideal thing at their age. They have to finish High School and they have to go to college and with a baby it'll be very difficult. You have to put the rules in your family so that you can deter your teenagers from wild behaviors. You can set rule like if you get pregnant you'll have to support yourself or move out because it's unacceptable for this family and this is the rule. If you make a strict rule like that they are less likely to do anything that comes to mind. Teenagers think it's OK because they know their parents will help them raise the kids and also raise them as well. The parents ultimately become the new victim and now they're responsible for one more life. I think that disciplining and setting boundaries are important and they start at home.
