Templars and Friday the 13th
posted September 30, 2009 - 1:31amNews report: Circa 1898: A farmer in Minnesota was clearing trees from his field and uprooted a large stone. He discovered strange carvings in the stone that turned out to be ancient runes dated back to a time before Amerigo Vespuci or Christopher Columbus even were born.< p>

There were reports of the stone being a hoax, but with new technology and scientific methods the stone has been determined to be authentic, or more so than the scientists of the past did. The runes on the stone are very similar to those found on Scottish stones found in the 1300's. This information would place the Templar in the middle of the United States 130 years before Columbus's famous tour in 1492.
The runes on the stones were also found in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The current idea is that the Templar was leaving clues to a journey through the new world.
Templar was reportedly massacred by the Christians on Friday, October 13. The Catholics were trying to keep much of Christianity a secret from the common man. Templar held information that was not available to the general population and it was easy at the time to keep it from them as most could not read. After this date, though, there were reports of Templar crossing the Atlantic Ocean and making it to the new world in the late 1300's, the dating of the stone found in the Minnesota field.
With every New Year there is more evidence of corruption and deceit in the ancient religious leaders of Europe, trying to keep the entire truth away from those who would benefit the most from their words. I, for one, look forward to any future history that would enable me to either believe or continue to question the possibility of a true religion and an actual deity.

Templar or Templars?
Sorry if I am a bit confused but the rune stones found in North America have mostly been traced to Viking origins, as for Templar I am not sure if you are speaking of the "Kinghts Templar" who were the self proclaimed protectors of Christianity during the middle ages. I suppose anything is possible. Thanks for the article.

Templars are about as Christian as you get
The Templar Knights were in charge of protecting the Christian pilgrims in the "Holy Land" during the crusades. Eventually they returned to Europe and became very powerful, to the point that the pope and the king of France decided to get rid of them.

Very interesting subject...
and a pleasure to read. Hope you will continue with this subject. Thank you.
So much there
I have seen a coupla of History Channel/Nat Geo specials on those runes to know that there is a ton of info to be written on them. The fact the likes of FDR and John Wayne invested in escavating of that tunnel in Nova Scotia is a story in itself. Write more, please! :)

Templars and Friday the 13th
Excellent! a great article and well-researched. Very interesting read and quite weird stories about Friday the 13th. Thanks for sharing this great stuff.
Perhaps you're a Cathar...
While assembling some holiday reading I started to flick throught Montaillou: The World Famous Portrait of Life in a Medieval Village by Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie. It is my well thumbed and glossed copy and mesmerises me every time. I'm not religious or do I want to be but I've a soft spot for the Cathars and I think the Templars shared it.
