Ten Things To Do While Cruising Around Xomba

1. Wonder why nobody has left you a private message in two weeks.

2. Check all your new comments and realize 90% of them are from Antonia. She really reads everything...

3. Stare at everything in your immediate surroundings looking for inspiration for a new post. Then come to the realization that there is nothing inherently fascinating about the color of Post-Its.

4. Ponder how the hell that DRUM! post got so many damn hits...

5. Convince yourself that you have no talent and you are just a poser and don't belong here. Refresh the page six times.

6. Read all of your own posts for the sixty fourth time to convince yourself that you DO have talent. Just don't read the comments...

7. Go get a drink. Preferrably of the alcoholic persuasion.

8. Aha! On the way back from the kitchen, you trip over the garbage bag that you never took out and it gives inspiration for a post. Get writing.

9. Edit everything you type ninety six times because you don't want to piss Ken Light off and start a Xomba War. Backspace....no that doesn't sound right...why the frig does my vocabulary suck?...where the HELL is my thesaurus?...I really don't have talent so why am I even on this stinking site to begin with?....okay keep typing you big tool before they all think you died....alright that's good enough. Submit.

10. Realize that you have just spent the last two hours of your life in front of the computer conversing with yourself on your own ability to form a coherent sentence. Pray that the buzzards don't swarm...

Ignorance can certainly be fatal. Need I remind you of some commonly used last words: "What's this button do?" "What was that moving around in the marsh?" "I wonder if that doggy is friendly..." (And, of course, to stay topical:) "What happens if I do this to a stingray?" and um..."Stamp out ignorance"? What are you, Bono now? DISCLAIMER: This post was not meant to be hostile in any way. It was simply meant to be lighthearted and, hopefully, funny. I'm thinking of making that my signature...any suggestions?

Ignorance is a curable problem. The problem is that the world is not interested in curing it and takes the stance that it is terminal, as you have done. But if we truly make an attempt to enlighten the masses then eventually some of it will sink in. People are not ignorant by choice, they are ignorant because they simply do not know. Ignorance means to not have information on something. Stupidity on the other hand is more about ability or lack thereof. It can generally not be cured by informing people about something. That is the difference and that is why ignorance can eventually be overcome. I should start a "Stamp out Ignorance" campaign :) Xomba could be the beginning of the movement, it could be the place to begin to reform and inform the thinking of the world. It could be a place where people come for answers, entertainment and enlightenment. But it would require a concerted effort on *OUR* part. It would require patience and understanding. It would require tolerance and acceptance. It would require us not to attack each other but to illuminate each other. I have the courage to do so, but do the rest of you? Is it better to attack each other either overtly or covertly or is it better to help each other? I choose the latter. I am not attacking anyone, I am merely enlightening them.


Ignorance can be terminal, too, unfortunately.

Next time Cara, just let me know and I'll invite you in for a cup of coffee instead of you skulking about outside my window watching me write in just my boxers ;) As for he ignorant comments... There is only one cure for ignorance and that is enlightenment. But stupidity is a terminal disease. -ME

Have you ever gotten into a war with Ken? You're smart, I don't know why he would have ever picked on you. Anyway, I was actually thinking about you recently Cara, and how I never see you on anymore. But I agree with your post. This is a difficult place to be anymore. I wanted really badly to just stop coming here, but I keep getting sucked back for some reason. Like I just said in my post, I can't stand the anger on here much anymore. I might just take a cue from you and stop replying. I think you missed all the Evolution bull**** while you were away though, so it was a good time to take a step back.
