Texas Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Allowing Exorcism
A 17 year old girl was injured in the process of receiving an exorcism. Though the case was originally tried, without mention of religious beliefs, the church prompted the question of whether or not it should be held liable for injury sustained as the result of a spiritual principal to which the injured party adhered to.
The Texas court ruled that the church should not be held liable for such acts, as it would force the church to abandon a core belief system. They said it was also unconstitutional, requiring the state to become involved in church affairs.
