I am a Nigerian. Does that scare you? Yep!! Don't deny it. I can see the petrified look in your eyes, the change in body language...(Sigh.)
Don't worry I am neither angry nor upset with the world, just a
little frustrated. I know there are quite a number people who have had a sad running with a Nigerian. We are known for scamming or '419 ' (as it is called here.) However there are a few good men here. And there is a need to say it. Why? Well the sins of the many can affect the few. Here is an example of me:
Well it all started when I decided that I wanted to write online. (This is my first time) and make some spare change on the side. I browsed.... and wow! There were so many websites offering lovely opportunities. All I had to do was register now! By filling out an online application form. So I start to fill, and then I get to it. What you may ask? You know, that drop down dialogue box that tell you to select your country and yes, Nigeria is not listed.
It took me almost two weeks before I came across Xomba. I read through with out much hope waiting for some clause that would effectively, make me move to the next web page…It never came!
I had an article or two I wanted to post as my first. But then I decided that this one would be more appropriate for a start. So what I am hoping we will take away from this? Never give up on anything that you are passionate about. There will always be people willing to give you a chance no matter what and there are decent Nigerians out there!
Well that is it for now. You will be hearing from me from to time. And there is one more thing I have to say: Thank you Xomba! Thank you!!!
