The American Museum of Natural History in New York

New York's American Museum of Natural History would be hailed as a great museum in most cities, but it often gets overshadowed by the many famous art museums the city has to offer.

Nonetheless, the American Museum of Natural History is definitely worth a visit or two if you're a fan of science, biology, paleontology, and the natural world. The dowdy old 1950s-style dioramas have been replaced in recent years by more modern-looking exhibits, many using up-to-date electronic interactive displays and user-friendly exhibits that get the visitor involved.

And you can learn about the moon, the stars, and all manner of other celestial bodies at the Hayden Planetarium, which is part of AMNH and is right next door.

The Museum is currently featuring an exhibit on The Horse, which examines the animal's history, development, and use by mankind.

The American Museum of Natural History is located on Central Park West and 81st Street.

On the Internet, no one can tell

whether I'm a real person or not. The American Museum of Natural History, fortunately, is indeed real!

If I'm ever in New York, and I do plan to be some day...

I will be sure to visit. It sounds like it would definitely be worth while! Thanks for all the information on it. Science Museums

It's one of my favorite museums. For other natural wonders in NYC, I'd also recommend the Bronx Zoo and the Aquarium in Brooklyn.

Nature, the cosmos, and Pink Floyd

You can study the natural world in the museum, then explore the cosmos at the planetarium (though the last time I was at the latter it was for the Pink Floyd laser light show!)

Museum of Natural History

Definitely worth a visit! More science stuff than I can take in in one setting.

Will Definitely Visit.....
