The Art of Worrying Scientifically

We all know that worrying is never good for us because worrying causes stress, and who needs more of that?! But if someone were to show you how to worry ‘scientifically’, wouldn’t you much rather do it that way? I mean, isn’t scientifically’ equated to words like “organically” and “naturally”?

With that in mind, here are a few suggestions for how you might worry in a more scientific manner….

1. Never worry about ‘rumors’, or about what ‘they’ say - Live your life in a manner that you deem appropriate, and then it won’t matter what anyone else says.

2. Worry about only one problem at a time - Even one worry is too much, but more than one at a time will overwhelm you.

3. Set a definite day, afternoon, or night for worrying - then only worry at that time…an ‘appointment’ to worry.

4. Set a time limit for your ‘worry session’ and if you must go over it, give yourself credit toward the next session at the rate of time-and-a-half.

5. Never worry in bed, in the living room, dining room, or in church – the other activities in these places are much more important than anything you have to worry about.

6. Select one place, a comfortable place, for your worrying such as an easy chair with your feet up in an air conditioned room

7. Never worry with a frowning face. You must smile, sing or whistle while worrying.

8. Never worry when you are tired, sick, angry, or depressed – it only makes these conditions worse.

9. Never worry while working, playing, visiting, shopping, or driving - worrying is much too distracting to attempt it during one of these activities.

10. There are two definite times never to worry – when you can help the situation, and when you cannot.

Never worry alone!! Take it to Your Lord, or your Higher Power, whoever that may be, and leave it there!! And then get on with the business of living... Worry Free!!
