J has been studying Nichiren Buddhism, and their main practice is repeated chanting of this mantra: "Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo" (literally 'The truth of The Lotus Sutra is holier than all other true truths').

Along with that mantra, they also chant sections of the chapter on "Expedient Means" (generally, 'as the people understand things, so the Buddha communicates') and sections of the chapter on "the Life-Span of the Thus Come One" ('that the Buddha is a Buddha before `e can even say "Buddha"').

J also chants as he walks around the neighborhood, although–being a blood-borne Catholic–he switches into the Our Father, Hail Mary and the 'Glory Be' as he passes a church, charitable-organization, or dry-cleaners ('Expedient Means,' yes?).

But since he was speaking the Buddhist prayers 'in tongues,' he felt that he ought also speak the Christian prayers 'in tongues' and found the site below in searching for access to the tongues to be spoken.

We understand that 'speaking in tongues' isn't "speaking in tongues" unless the speaker isn't exactly sure what `e's saying; but 'what you say' doesn't matter as much as 'what you mean' anyway, so this should give you a good start!

Here, it's something like, 'Good parents are parents who are good' ... but, of course, deeper.
