If you are visiting the Jersey shore this is the last place you want to go to. A very hostile staff. Drinks are expensive, bathrooms are the worst! The dress code is probably one of the most difficult things to understand. If you look at one of the workers the wrong way, they aren't going to let you in. Your shirt has to be above your pockets. However, sometimes you can get in with a shirt passed the pockets. It is unprofessional, random, and the staff will surround their decisions with a shroud of ego rather than customer service. It is hard to enjoy a place that lets you in sometimes, and harasses you the next. On top of that, a lot of 'thugs' go to the city making the environment a little unnerving compared to the other hot spots in Wildwood.

If you want to go to a good club in Wildwood, visit Flip Flops, The Shamrock, Tony's Cafe, or Goodnight Irenes. These are all great places. DO NOT GO TO THE CITY NIGHTCLUB. Flip Flops can be a lot of fun and definitely shows a lot more class than the previous. There is certainly less police activity at Flip Flops in my years of experience with the two places. Police actually park outside of The City in anticipation for the weekly shootings/stabbings that take place in Wildwood during the Summer season.
Enjoy your stay at Wildwood, be safe, and be sure to visit the boardwalk attractions while you are down here.

This is just probably another hater that was dressed like a thug or something that they did not let in. I work at the City Night Club and have never worked at a place where I had so much fun. So many people are trying to run their mouths because we are the only place that has any business on the island every weekend. All the other places that were mentioned are places that you might as well fall asleep on the bar, they are boring. I love the city and it is a great place to work and visit, as long as you are not dressed like a thug.

Are you talking about Flipflops? You can go there and hang out with all the old people that beat each other up in the bathrooms. There has more police activity there than anywhere else. And they have 1 Bouncer in the whole place, that's real safe. Nothing wrong with having a dress code to keep the trash out. By the way, Flipflops has no been open for years, they just opened the end of last summer 2007, it is in North Wildwood where the police look for a reason to pull you over, and there has been many fights since they re-opened 2 months ago including someone who almost got beat to death in the bathroom. Such mis-informed people.
