The Club!!

Where is this club that everyone sings and raps about these days? For the past like four or five years you cannot hear a song or watch a music video without somebody talking about "the club"! Where is it at?! And what's the capacity on this thing? You have everyone talking about this place from Chris Brown, to Usher, To Jay-Z, to 50 Cent, to the Pussycat Dolls, to basically anyone who is popular on radio these days.I'm not an avid radio listener but just driving the other day scanning the stations, every pop or r&b station there was, had some reference to the club, it was just sad, and funny as well!

I mean my goodness has the well run that dry in the world of music that all a person can sing or write about these days is the happenings in this place called, "the club"! So, what makes this place so cool anyway? There are probably endless drinks I'm sure, strippers or various degrees of women being treating poorly, very ego driven alpha males walking around, smoke, bad dancing, vulgarity....this just sounds like such an awesome place to keep making songs about over and over and over again.

What does this say about our state of music these days? It seems as though there's nothing of substance to write about, apparently. I mean if a person just opens the newspaper, or turn on CNN there are tons upon tons of things that a person could fill there track listings with instead of musings of "the club", or what's going down in "the club"! I mean it is the summertime, aren't there other things to do when your not going to school, or when you get off from work. Can't you offer the world something more than "the club"?
