The Concept of "Reading-Time"

The Concept of "Reading-Time"

It seems like 'nowadays' there's always a "to-do list:" you wake up in the morning to do something (not because you want to), you go to work to do the reception of money (not because it's just what you do), you get married to do the marriage-ritual not to manifest the realized marriage).

People's 'to-do'-attitude is wrong, but it's ingrained into us by the "after-you-finish-your-housework/-homework"-motivation.

I want to fix that with a meditation I now call "Just-Being Time." (As you can see above, my 'just being' usually involves reading ... though it also includes 'making sure the house is straightened-up' and 'writing a few articles I'm working on,' I focus on 'reading' because I can do it as easily as meditating [i.e. I can let it take me away and choose to stay only 'present' enough to keep on schedule].)

I keep no goal during this time---if something gets finished, that's cool and I move on to the next reading; if something started does not get finished, that's cool and I know where to start next time.
