The death of old media

The death of old media

When one really looks at the information landscape they can see that old media has lost a massive amount of influence. Their power was derived from being the only game in town. Now there are millions of blogs and independent video makers and inquisitive people who can contribute to the news/information realm. I see CNN as a bad youtube video. Fox news is similar to the video you see made by the unstable youtube member, the one who’s videos all have a one star rating.

I wonder where all of these obnoxious overpaid soon to be fired talking heads will find work. Perhaps the entertainment industry will have no trouble finding cheap actors to play the part of idiots on their failing sitcoms. Oh yeah, that’s right people are turning off tv all together, this includes avoiding the propaganda news and entertainment. Don’t be surprised if you see a former tv anchorman asking if you want fries with that.

It appears that the old media has gone insane. They still think they are the main source for people’s reality. They try to portray the Internet as something that only neck bearded linux users log on to. My dad is a regular guy, retired and now an assistant football coach who uses gmail. My in laws use the Internet. They even have Internet rooms at old folks homes where they get computer training. The old media are talking to themselves in a closet. They look ridiculous and they are bringing down the house on their own heads. Maybe this is best this way for it to end.
