The Digg Effect Controversy
On 1st May Someone posted a 32 bit hex code that could be used to encrypt HD DVDs. This code can also be used to make copies of commercial DVDs. The story got 16,000 votes in 20 hours. Digg deleted the code and banned the user, but it was again there very shortly and registered 15,000 votes in 15 hours. Digg servers went down many times in the night.
