The Edwards Endorsement: Maybe We Are Nearing the End?
The Edwards Endorsement: Maybe We Are Nearing the End?
Former Senator John Edwards came forth and threw his support behind Senator Barack Obama, on Wednesday. It may or may not have been planned, but it certainly took all the momentum, out
of the Clinton campaign, after she won by a huge margin, some 41% over Senator Obama, in West Virgina. The interesting thing is that an exit poll taken, showed that, those polled from West Virginia, would vote 51%,for Senator Obama, 27% for Senator McCain, and 14% undecided, in the General Election.
Very strange, it would appear that the West Virginians, voted for Senator Clinton because they knew she was going to lose, while the final outcome, based on that one exit poll, showed that they knew, that Senator Obama and Senator McCain would be the ones campaigning for President in the end.
One thing about the timing, of the endorsement by Senator Edwards, is that Senator Obama has management skills, that rival someone, who has played with the big boys before. He pulled the endorsement of Governor Richardson out of his pocket at a time, when the Reverend Wright controversy was swirling at its peak, the endorsement took Wright off the front burners, the timing of the Edwards endorsement did the
same thing. Senator Clinton's WV win, became old news, when Edwards stepped on the stage, bringing some of his delegates with him.
Senator Obama needs some 130 delegates, to finish this thing off, taking him to the number 2,025.
He has run a textbook campaign, so much so, that it was reported that, at a school for up and coming young Republicans, an instructor was overheard, telling his chargees, to take a look at the campaign, run by Senator Obama.
This is one more reason, to decide who would be the better
Democratic nominee, someone who is $20+ million in debt,or someone who is ahead in all respects, states, pledged delegates, super delegates and $40+ available to keep
running? Not really a hard decision, Senator Clinton will
take her case to the super delegates, those who have not
yet commited to Senator Obama, he picked up four more on Thursday, and try to get them to reverse everything that Senator Obama has accomplished fairly, and present her with the nomination. This is a bit delusional, sort of like the sniper bullets in Bosnia, that she was (not) ducking. That is one other thing, if you don't know the difference between reality and fiction, then Houston, we have a problem. Rather than answering 3 a.m. phone calls in the White House, she might need a couch and a well trained doctor of minds.
So let's wind this thing down, and get on with the rest of the story, it's more than time to move on. The country is in need of strong leadship, to take us in a new, and more productive direction, before we wind up being, like a third world country.
