The First aid Experience in Videos

I was conducting first aid training on some elementary and high school student in one municipality in Camotes Island. The island is about 2 hours ride from the mainland. It was the Plan International, a Non Government Organization who has requested me to conduct the training and they were also the one who sponsored the said program.

Most of the participants were 7 years old going up to 16 years old. Although there were some high school teachers who joined the training but majority were children.

I was hesitant at first since I was asking myself what can they do considering that they are just very young. Anyway, I continued with my training which was good for 2 days. The participants were taught on Basic First aid and CPR. Included on the topics were bandaging, emergency transportation and of course Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.

Prior to the end of the training, I divided the participants into small groups and gave them an emergency scenario wherein they will respond and provide first aid care.

I was really surprised at the results since the children responded to the scene and applied the necessary first aid procedure to the victims.

Truly I could see that First aid training knows no boundaries. Even the young can be trained and would most likely be helpful in the event of an emergency. Coming from a country where accidents happen anytime and safety is not much given particular attention, First aid training should be given importance.
